Inspection systems that increase sustainability – Made in Germany

At 必威betway中文版入口 in Dusseldorf, inspection expert scanware will exhibit a number of vision systems of the newest generation. At the heart of the new systems is the new software architecture Quality Intelligence which is based on Artificial Intelligence. Throughout, the developers have their eyes on sustainability and adaptability as core values for the future.

“Sustainability has always been integral to the scanware philosophy. Our systems run for decades and the previous generation is still in the field, thanks to high quality components and upgradeability”, recounts Harald Mätzig, managing director. The newest generation includes this on the software level more than ever.

Quality Intelligence (QI) follows a modular build, meaning administrative and inspection tasks are handled in separate areas. The data base at the centre evaluates teach-in images and creates inspection parameters and eliminates potential for human error caused when manually inserting parameters.

The modular structure also enables two equally useful new options: Now, multiple systems can be displayed at the same time on a single screen. And secondly, it is now possible to view a system simultaneously from two locations, for example access from the back office while a user is working on a line. This reduces required hardware and with fewer admin tasks to do on the manufacturing floor, reduces down-times on the line.

Furthermore, a whole range of features is in place to optimise the packaging process and reduce rejection of good product. Technical Manager Dirk Schneider states: “Responsible use of resources is especially crucial with pharmaceuticals. That is why we inspect a lot of packaging before filling, so as to minimise wastage.” Examples for this are the systems for tubes and bottles (pictured), which will be on display at 必威betway中文版入口.

A whole range of statistical features are also available, tailored to improve the packaging process and save material. For example filling errors can be analysed by blister, or transport irregularities counteracted with mask tracking as part of the software.

The advantages of the new software architecture QI as well as the newest solution for tablets & co., parenterals, track & trace and many others can be demonstrated and explained in more details by the experts at the booth.
